The war seems to follow me when ever I go. I follow my wife in Iran while she is working as a Nurse. I was able to to find job working as Piping Engineer in Tehran, Iran, year 1974 to 1979. There was a political war and let my wife go back to Philippines. I landed in Saudi Arabia and work as Outside Plant Engineer at Saudi Telecommunications in Ryadh as well in Dammam for 10 years. Here comes again the desert storm monitoring Saudi by the US and I resigned from post. We arrived in the United States July 20, 1989 and can not find job for almost 7 months. I continue enrolling in Autocad class, Excel, Microsoft words, etc. in USC Fullerton school, Cypress School, Cerritos College, etc. to have my local experience. It was a hard times for us due to cultural shock that you can not find an engineering job. As a Mechanical Engineering graduate in Mapua Institute of Technology it is hard in the United States to find a job related to your degree. I landed working as a draftsman and so on. Now I am satified with my present job doing inspection on elevators and escalators. It is a state job. And thanks God that He is blessing us abundantly.

My funny memory is when our classmate Lagaso, Tapia, Tubillo, etc. I forget their first names. They were asking one of our teacher that they will guess the color of her under wear. I will not mentioned the of the teacher anymore. This guys put a mirror on their shoes and told the teacher the color. Everybody was laughing and the teacher blush and crying. She found out what they did and they were punished not to come to school, I think for a week.
